Keep On Walking

Ever have one of those moments where you want to crawl in a hole and hide?

Well, I had one of them yesterday.

And, surprisingly, it had nothing to do with my kids. Shocking, right?!

I'm leaving Costco and it's super crowded. I'm outside and there seems to be some kind of party going on (not really but there was a large group of people standing around talking.)

Anywho, I pull my car keys out of my purse and push my way through.

I must have dropped something because an older gentleman poked me and said "Miss, you dropped something."

I looked down and it was a tampon. And, it was laying right in the middle of the foreamentioned party of people.

For a split second, I thought about ignoring it and keep on walking.

But, he poked me again and repeated himself.

I groaned and walked back and nonchalantly picked it up and shoved it into my purse.

I'm sure that everyone was looking at me but I wouldn't know because I kept my head down and just kept on moving.

And, before you ask, no...I didn't take a picture. I just wanted to get out of there. I don't think that the man knew what it was. LOL.

And, then I got into the car and cracked up. Because, it was funny and I do amuse myself.

At Least We're Making Progress

Ken and I went to the Duran Duran concert a few nights ago. Melissa (our next door neighbor and babysitter extrodinarie) came over to babysit the boys. I went to her mom's house the next day and Mary asked me if Melissa had told me what Owen did.

I replied no but, giving his recent history, did it have anything to do with him pulling his pants down or humping?

She started laughing and said yes.

Oh good Lord. Seriously? I told her I had to cut my car off and I'd be right back in. This was going to take a while, I could tell.

Well, it seems that the boys were playing outside with the next door neighbor boy. I'm not even sure how Melissa found out what Owen did (Shane probably told on him) but it seems that sweet Owen had to go potty and instead of coming inside, he decided to pee on the grass.

Of course, this was in the front yard.

But, instead of denying it and going into his long, drawn out closing argument, he just simply said "yep...I did it."

Melissa put him into time out.

And, then she got the full mommy treatment. He refused to sit into time out so his 5 minute time out turned into 15 minutes. LOL.

His excuse? He had to pee but he made sure that no one saw him because he went to the corner of the yard and peed on the grass. He did not pull out his private part so others could see it.

And then he demonstrated for me how he made sure no one saw it. Um...thanks, Owen. I needed to see that.

So, I'm once again having the "don't pull your private parts out in public" conversation with him.

But, there are two positives about this. 1) He didn't hump anyone and 2) he admitted to it without turning it into a court case.

And, maybe he's just living out his dream and I should just encourage this behavior. I'm just so proud.

But...at least we're making progress.

Photo of the Day

Black and White

Black and white...yep. That's me. But, I get it honestly. From my dad. It either is or it isn't and that's just the way it is.

But, that's not what this post is about. This is about shooting pictures in black and white.

One of the hardest things about shooting pics during the middle of the day is dealing with the harsh light. One way to get around that is to shoot in black and white. Black and white shots do well under harsh light conditions and would make some stunning beach pics.

I did use my Rebel but your point and shoot may have the black and white function in it. My old one did and that's where I found out about black and white.

So, go and check your camera settings. You may have that feature and don't even know it. Move those functions off of automatic settings. Please? ;)

Just The Pics, Please

This past weekend when Sheldon and Mary Mayken were here, there were other things going on in addition to anatomy lessons and changing cute shoes.

Here's a few of my favorite pics from this weekend.

Shane was playing with MM and I came into the kitchen to find this. I'm hoping that he was playing his Kidz Bop songs and not Motley Crue. :)

Sheldon loved the boys scooters. I just held my breath hoping that she wouldn't biff it. She didn't, for the record.

Shane needs to give Owen back his scooter. It's a little on the small side, don't ya think?

Sheldon obviously gets her tall, slender body from our side of the family. LOL.

One of the few moments where MM didn't have a motor on her behind.

Here's the best I could do with all four kids, Ginny. The others weren't pretty. Trust me. And, I'm sorry for Owen's goofy grin. He's been in this phase for a while. I'm ready to go onto the next one. :)

You think that Shane is use to the camera?

Owen was so proud of himself for climbing up to the top. Apparently, kindergarteners aren't allowed up there. Of course, he told me that after I let him do it.

This is his alternate goofy grin, by the way. It's much better, don't you think?
